🎨 1. Skipping Surface Prep
The Mistake: Jumping straight into spraying without fully cleaning, degreasing, or sanding properly.
The Fix: Always clean with a quality degreaser (e.g. Q1 Panel Wipe) and use the correct grit sanding discs. Poor prep = poor adhesion.
🌡 2. Wrong Temperature & Humidity
The Mistake: Painting in cold or humid conditions leads to runs, fisheyes, or poor curing.
The Fix: Always spray between 20–25°C. Use fast or slow hardeners based on the booth temp. We recommend MIPA 2K HS Hardener in the right grade.
⚖ 3. Incorrect Mixing Ratios
The Mistake: “Eyeballing” the mix or using the wrong thinner ratio.
The Fix: Stick to the manufacturer’s spec. Use mixing cups with ratio guides and label each mix. Consistency = quality.
🎯 4. Overloading the Gun
The Mistake: Holding the gun too close or moving too slowly – causing sags and overspray.
The Fix: Keep a 15–20cm distance and steady hand. Practice your trigger control. Less is more.
🛠 5. Using the Wrong Gun Setup
The Mistake: Not adjusting PSI, fluid tip, or fan correctly for your paint type.
The Fix: For basecoats use a 1.3mm tip, for clear a 1.3–1.4mm. Pressure should match spec – check your gun’s manual. We recommend SATA or Devilbiss setups.
✅ Final Tip: Always Use Quality Consumables
Cheap tapes, filters, or strainers ruin good paint. Use premium brands like Mirka, Q1, and Indasa for reliable results.
